Job summary

Laura Canada is seeking a skilled Fit Technician / Pattern Maker to design and modify patterns that align with sketches and Laura Canada standards. You will guide pattern updates, fit sessions, and communicate improvements to suppliers for transition from first fit to pre-production.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years in ladies’ apparel pattern making and fit tech, with strong garment construction knowledge and proficiency in CAD/PLM tools, including CLO3D, PAD, and PLM systems.

Qualifications

• Pattern making and fit expertise aligned with Laura Canada's standards.
• 3-5 years experience as Pattern Maker and Fit Technician for ladies’ apparel.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, grading and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD/PLM tools.

Responsibilities

• Create initial pattern according to the Designer’s sketch and Laura Canada standards.
• Prepare the specification sheets.
• Lead sample fitting sessions on live models.
• Make corrections and provide suppliers with a detailed report of improvements from first fit to pre-production.
• Ensure corrections are reflected on the next fit samples and provide final graded specs and comments for bulk production.

Job description

As the Fit Technician / Pattern Maker, you will contribute to Laura’s success by designing and modifying patterns to produce an executable garment that is balanced and proportional to the sketch and meets Laura Canada standards. You will also provide suppliers with accurate comments on fit, pattern updates and graded specifications.

How will you support the team?

• Create initial pattern according to the Designer’s sketch and Laura Canada standards.
• Prepare the specification sheets.
• Lead sample fitting sessions on live models.
• Make the appropriate corrections and provide suppliers with a detailed report of improvements to be made from first fit stage to the pre-production stage.
• Ensure that the required corrections have been made on the next fit samples.
• Provide suppliers with final graded specs and final comments for bulk production.
