Job summary

Laura Canada in Laval, Quebec is seeking a skilled Fit Technician / Pattern Maker to translate a designer’s vision into production-ready garments.

You’ll pattern, grade, lead fit sessions on live models, and collaborate with Design and Production to bring each piece from concept to final product. This role emphasizes a strong eye for proportion and details in ladies’ apparel.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Garment Techniques or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Pattern Maker and/or Fit Technician in ladies’ apparel.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, grading, fit and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Create initial patterns based on the Designer’s sketch and Laura Canada standards.
• Prepare accurate specification sheets.
• Lead fit sessions on live models, assessing fit, balance and proportion.
• Identify required adjustments and provide detailed technical comments to suppliers from first fit through pre-production.
• Review subsequent samples to ensure corrections have been properly executed.
• Provide final graded specifications and comments for bulk production.
• Collaborate with Design and Production teams to bring each garment from concept to final product.
