Job summary

Laura Canada in Laval, Quebec is seeking a skilled Fit Technician / Pattern Maker to transform a designer’s vision into production-ready garments.

You’ll create initial patterns, lead live-model fit sessions, prepare specs, and work with Design and Production to bring each piece from concept to final product.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Garment Techniques or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Pattern Maker and/or Fit Technician in ladies’ apparel.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, grading, fit and industry standards.
• A strong eye for proportion, balance and detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of PAD, CLO 3D and/or PLM is an asset.

• Create initial patterns based on the Designer’s sketch and Laura Canada standards.
• Prepare accurate specification sheets.
• Lead fit sessions on live models, assessing fit, balance and proportion.
• Identify required adjustments and provide detailed technical comments to suppliers from first fit through pre-production.
• Review subsequent samples to ensure corrections have been properly executed.
• Provide final graded specifications and comments for bulk production.
• Collaborate with Design and Production teams to bring each garment from concept to final product.
