The successful candidate will prepare costing specifications, track samples, ensure quality standards, and work collaboratively with design teams. They will have a solid background in garment construction and experience in a similar role, combined with strong attention to detail and bilingual communication skills.

Job description

Consumer Goods & Fashion Executive | Board Chair

Main Responsibilities :

• Prepare costing specs for the sourcing department.
• Maintain sample tracking log for fittings daily.
• Prepare size and fit specification sheets based on order requirements.
• Measure, comment, and compare garment samples to technical files created by the design team.
• Prepare and submit samples to customers for approval.
• Ensure quality standards meet customer requirements, including wash tests in our laundry room, and generate reports.
• Measure samples for size and production against size specification sheets to ensure desired size is achieved.
• Make corrections to specifications and details to achieve desired fit and appearance.
• Communicate changes, fit problems, or corrections clearly to the manufacturer.
• Prepare spreadsheet calculations for garment grading.
• Prepare paper patterns as needed.

Qualifications :

• College Fashion school degree in fashion design or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Thorough knowledge of industry-standard garment construction techniques.
• Knowledge of the production cycle and its impact on design.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
• Experience interpreting market trends to meet current fashion and fit styles.
• Proven initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Good time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• English proficiency required for communication with outside suppliers.
