Job summary

GTR Worldwide is seeking a production worker for our fish and seafood processing facility in Canada. You will perform processing, cleaning, portioning and packaging while upholding food safety and quality standards and supporting a cooperative team to meet daily production targets.

Candidates should have basic numeracy and good communication skills, be able to stand for long periods in cold environments, and operate or learn processing and packaging equipment.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in fish/seafood or food processing is an asset.
• Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks, stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and HACCP procedures.
• Comfort working in cold, wet environments with protective clothing/equipment.
• Basic numeracy and clear communication to follow instructions and complete records.

Responsibilities

• Sort, grade and inspect incoming and processed fish/seafood by size, quality and spec.
• Clean and prepare product using knives and cutting tools (gutting, filleting, trimming, portioning).
• Operate and monitor processing and packaging equipment per procedures.
• Pack, weigh, label and seal finished products for storage/shipment.
• Perform sanitation tasks and maintain hygiene across workstations and equipment.
• Record production data and report defects, collaborating with the team to meet targets.
