Job summary

Delta Pacific Seafoods in Delta, BC, is seeking a Fish Fillet Cutter to join our team. You will fillet to customer specifications, cut carcasses and ensure high yields, using knives, saws and hand vacuums in a cold, wet setting.

No formal education is required; previous filleting experience is valued. Training will be provided. Work hours are early mornings with some overtime; benefits include medical and dental coverage and uniforms.

Qualifications

• No formal education required to apply.
• Previous filleting experience with seafood is a strong asset.
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds and work in a cold, damp environment.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity required.

Responsibilities

• Fillet fish according to customer specifications.
• Cut carcasses, sides and quarters.
• Scrape scales, remove bones and trim parts using knife.
• Cut fish into steaks and fillets and weigh.
• Wrap and package prepared fish.
• Prepare special orders and special displays.
• Train fish cutters as needed.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work area.
