Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. is seeking a Firmware Engineer 2 to join our team in Canada. You will design, develop, and validate firmware spanning pre- and post-silicon stages for AMD SoCs, collaborating with firmware engineers, developers, and architects across multiple IPs.

The role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent technical communication. A Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in CS/CE/EE is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience producing quality firmware.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, verify and/or validate firmware, software and/or hardware.
  • Participate in day-to-day firmware development work.
  • Provide consultation to internal and external customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements.

FIRMWARE ENGINEER 2
THE ROLE:

We are looking for a n Engineer with an obsession for firmware. As part of the role, this engineer will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers and architects across various IPs in designing and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.

THE PERSON:

You are a motivated self-starter who is passionate about firmware development and can work independently in a fast-paced environment. You have strong problem-solving skills, a hunger to learn and to produce with a can-do attitude. You have strong technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, debug, verify and/or validate firmware, software and/or hardware
  • Participant in day-to-day firmware development work
  • Provide consultation to internal and external customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience producing quality firmware
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
