Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead Fire systems projects on-site in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. You will ensure projects are designed accurately, on-time, within budget, and compliant with contract scope, while maintaining positive cash flow and high ethics standards.

You will review estimates, manage subcontractors, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive successful project outcomes through strong communication and financial oversight.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a related field and 3-5 yrs of project management experience in the building construction industry.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Construction Management, or diploma with equivalent work-related experience.
• Demonstrates technical competency for Fire and/or Security Systems, evaluation of scope, basic design, installation standards, and commissioning understanding.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary on-site leader for execution teams on assigned projects.
• Develop design package, project schedules and execute according to plan.
• Evaluate contractual scope and impact of client directives and scheduling changes.
• Ensure scope of work and specifications are met and compliant.
• Perform cost estimates, prepare proposals and negotiate final price with customers.
• Manage costs, billings and collections and complete project billings on time.
• Maintain profitability and cash flow through forecasting, revenue recognition, invoicing and AR.
