Levitt-Safety is currently recruiting a Fire Services Technician to inspect and maintain fire and life safety equipment such as extinguishers, cylinders, breathing apparatus, and other equipment that keeps our customers in the Sarnia area safe every day.
Based primarily in Sarnia, you will be provided full training to support our customers in the area. You will build your career with us through formal technical training and certifications from our manufacturers, as well as hands-on training with our experienced team.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide mobile service and inspection of various fire and life safety equipment, including vehicle fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and other fire safety devices. Perform audits, offer follow-up suggestions, and complete necessary repairs.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on multiple brands (Ansul, Kidde, Fogmaker, Amerex) for vehicle fire suppression systems.
- Accurately complete and submit all required service, commissioning, and health and safety paperwork in a timely manner, adhering to company policies and ISO procedures.
- Collaborate with the service coordination team and supervisor to efficiently plan work schedules, meet customer demands, and maintain inventory levels.
- Identify and resolve service-related issues promptly, providing practical solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Support in-house service work and maintain a clean and organized work environment in the branch service areas, service vehicles, and customer locations.
- Participate in mandatory safety training, maintain industry certifications, and actively contribute to Job Hazard Analyses. Follow Safe Work Practices and conduct site-specific training for owners and end-users as needed.
- Maintain the service vehicle, inventory, and tools to ensure operational readiness.
- Attend off-site training sessions and branch meetings as required. Keep all manufacturer certifications up to date.
- Be available for after-hours callouts when necessary.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working in a mechanical shop or equivalent hands-on role with vehicles or other motorized equipment
- Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude with experience working with power and hand tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Computer savvy, safety conscious and d etail-oriented with the ability to complete paperwork and follow company procedures accurately
- Experience, education, or training working with fire protection and/or suppression systems is a strong asset
- Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Able to complete pre-employment checks as needed. These include a drug and alcohol test and background check.

Safety Compliance:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including customer sites and outdoor settings.
- Willingness to work after-hours callouts when needed.
- Ability to travel within southwestern Ontario for mobile service calls.
