Job summary

A leading municipal organization in Ontario seeks a Service Coordinator to implement and liaise internal communications, develop materials for Fire Services, and manage public communications. Applicants must possess a degree in Communications and three years of relevant experience. A strong emphasis on communication and organizational skills is required for supporting community initiatives and events.

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

  • Manage content on Fire Services webpage and project dashboard.

Job description

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Postsecondary education in Communications or a related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe social media, and related software
  • Knowledge of relevant trends, best practices, and legislation
  • Excellent communication, judgment, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong writing ability with research, report writing, and presentation skills
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Demonstrated safe work practices
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Assets :

  • Experience in municipal communications
  • Experience with municipal procurement

Duties :

  • Implement and coordinate internal communications within Fire Services
  • Develop and deliver print and digital communication materials
  • Coordinate external public communications with Corporate Communications
  • Create content for various platforms and assist with the Fire Services Annual Report
  • Support volunteer engagement initiatives and events
  • Lead communication campaigns and manage content on Fire Services webpage and project dashboard
  • Prepare updates, briefing notes, and reports for personnel and Council
  • Support engagement surveys and create marketing materials with Fire Prevention
  • Manage Fire Services Communication portal and collaborate on community initiatives
  • Provide administrative support and respond to public inquiries
  • Conduct research, draft reports, and assist with procurement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Annual Salary : $68,760 - $80,426 (Job Grade 5, under review), 35 hours/week
