Manitoba Wildfire Service, Northeast Region is seeking a qualified individual to fill the seasonal position of Assistant Regional Warehouse Supervisor located at Paint Lake Provincial Park.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be willing and able to work weekends, evenings and/or overtime on short notice.
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Must possess and maintain a valid full Class 5F Manitoba Driver's Licence or equivalent.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience in inventory control and expediting shipping and receiving of equipment and supplies.
- Experience using and maintaining camping equipment, hand tools, small motors, or similar outdoor equipment.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Strong organizational skills and time mangement skills.
- Strong verbal communications.
- Strong written communications.
Desired:
- Experience with truck and aircraft payloads.
- Knowledge and understanding of Workplace Safety and Health Regulations.
- Experience operating a forklift.
- Current first aid and CPR training.
- Knowledge of wildfire suppression, wildfire equipment, use and its maintenance.
Duties:
The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the supervision of the operation of the Northeast Regional Fire Equipment Warehouse. The successful candidate will be required to work weekends, may be required to work overtime on short notice, and may be required to work at remote fire camps. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in supervision, training, and scheduling work tasks for a staff of up to 15 employees.
- Repair, testing, ordering, shipping and receiving, and inventory of fire fighting equipment and supplies.
- Assisting in the auditing of the Northeast Region District Fire Warehouses and Mobile Fire Equipment Warehouses to ensure they meet or exceed current provincial standards.
The incumbent may assist Parks and Fire Program staff with other projects as well as other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
