Job summary

Onyx Fire Protection Services Inc is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Programmer in Mississauga to join our growing team. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to design and program fire alarm systems.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of hands-on fire alarm installation or repair experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach to testing and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in fire alarm installation or repair.
• Proficiency in fire alarm system programming and related software applications.
• Solid understanding of fire alarm control panels, devices, and associated equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, engineers, and technicians to understand project requirements and design specifications for fire alarm systems.
• Program and configure fire alarm control panels, devices, and related equipment in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.
• Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality and adherence to all standards and codes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to on-site installation and repair teams during the installation and commissioning phase of projects.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and vendors to address any programming-related queries or concerns.
• Stay updated with industry advancements, technological trends, and best practices in fire alarm system programming.
