Job summary

Johnson Controls Canada is seeking a field technician to support fire alarm systems. You will perform assisted installation, commissioning, and verification activities, read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications, and complete verification reports for customer submissions and AHJ approvals.

Travel throughout British Columbia and the Yukon, conduct small programming changes under supervision, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines. Strong communication and safety focus required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a college diploma in Fire Protection, Electrical/Electronics program, or similar.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals and manuals.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.
• Ability to travel within BC and the Yukon.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist installation, commissioning, and verification of fire alarm equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Complete verification reports and system acceptance tests with AHJs.
• Produce As Built drawings after job completion.
• Travel within the District business area as required.
• Adhere to OSHA and safety policies.
