Job summary

SweetTech, a Montreal-based fintech software company, is seeking a software development intern to join our team and contribute to software used by clients. Projects are scoped to your experience with guidance from the engineering team, including frontend work, API enhancements, bug fixes, or testing improvements.

You will follow your work from implementation through reviews and tests, learning to understand an existing codebase, implement focused changes, respond to code reviews, and verify

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a CS/SE program.
• Built software via coursework, projects, internship, or open-source contributions.
• Know Python or JavaScript/TypeScript and eager to learn our stack.
• Familiar with Git and basics of web APIs and databases.
• Can communicate clearly in English with the team.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve web features with guidance from experienced developers.
• Work on frontend components, backend APIs, or both, depending on project and experience.
• Investigate bugs and develop fixes addressing the underlying problem.
• Write and run tests, and validate changes in the app before review.
• Use AI coding tools to support development while checking output quality.
• Open pull requests, respond to feedback and document what others need to know.
• Collaborate with product and design to clarify expected behavior and users.
• Keep tasks current and raise blockers early.
