Job summary

Mirage Renovations Inc is seeking an experienced excavator operator for cut-and-fill and site grading work. The role involves completing projects from grading plans and benchmarks and requires the ability to establish and verify grades without ongoing direction.

Responsibilities include reading grading drawings, setting elevations with a laser level, coordinating with site personnel, and ensuring safe, productive operation on site.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience finish grading with an excavator to specified elevations and tolerances.
• Experience independently completing site preparation, lot grading, building pads, or similar earthworks.
• Ability to work accurately around existing structures, services, and completed work.
• Safe, productive operating habits and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Complete cut-and-fill operations, site grading, slope shaping, and final trimming.
• Read grading drawings, spot elevations, grade stakes, and slope requirements.
• Set up and use a laser level and grade rod to establish and verify elevations.
• Plan excavation sequence, machine positioning, stockpiles, and material movement.
• Coordinate with truck drivers, labourers, and site supervision.
• Recognize unsuitable ground, utility conflicts, and discrepancies between drawings and site conditions, and communicate them before proceeding.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine machine care.
