Blackline Civil Inc. is seeking an experienced Finish Grader Operator to join our civil construction team in Alberta. The role focuses on precise grading for municipal, commercial, and roadway projects with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has strong experience, a solid understanding of grading tolerances, and the ability to read plans and stake elevations. This full-time position offers safety-driven work and growth within a rapidly expanding division across Alberta.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of finish grader operating experience in civil construction.
• Experience with GPS grading systems is an asset.
• Strong understanding of grading tolerances and site preparation.

Responsibilities

• Operate finish graders for fine grading and final shaping.
• Perform grading work on roads, parking lots, subdivisions, and underground utility projects.
• Read and interpret grade stakes, elevations, blueprints, and site plans.
• Utilize laser and GPS machine control systems.
• Coordinate with supervisors, surveyors, and ground crews.
• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and routine equipment maintenance.
• Identify and report equipment issues or safety concerns.
• Assist with additional construction duties as required.

About the Role

We are currently hiring an experienced Finish Grader Operator to join our growing civil construction team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in fine grading for municipal, commercial, and roadway projects and be capable of producing accurate grades with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate finish graders for fine grading and final shaping
• Perform grading work on roads, parking lots, subdivisions, and underground utility projects
• Read and interpret grade stakes, elevations, blueprints, and site plans
• Utilize laser and GPS machine control systems
• Coordinate with supervisors, surveyors, and ground crews
• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and routine equipment maintenance
• Identify and report equipment issues or safety concerns
• Assist with additional construction duties as required

Qualifications & Experience

• 3+ years of finish grader operating experience in civil construction
• Experience with GPS grading systems is an asset
• Strong understanding of grading tolerances and site preparation
• Ability to work independently and maintain productivity
• Valid Class 5 driver's license required
• CSTS, Ground Disturbance, and other safety certifications are considered assets
• Reliable transportation to various project sites in the Edmonton area
