Job summary

First Nations Job is seeking a reliable General Labourer for on-site work in Perth, Carleton Place and surrounding areas. This full-time position runs 40 hours per week from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a CAD 26 per hour wage.

You will prepare estimates, read blueprints, lay out work, cut and install materials, and fit windows, doors, stairs and mouldings. Education required: college or diploma 1–2 years; minimum 6 months relevant experience; physically demanding with own vehicle and valid driver\'s

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months relevant experience
• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Estimate costs and materials
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
• General Labourer duties as required
