Job summary

Expert Facility Services Ltd in Surrey and surrounding areas is hiring for a permanent full-time position. You will prepare estimates, read blueprints, and coordinate site work across multiple locations. Start date is as soon as possible; 32 to 40 hours per week at approximately CAD 32.65 per hour.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 7 months to under 1 year of experience in related work; duties include supervising others and handling tenders and quotations.

Qualifications

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in related field.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Ability to prepare labour and material cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials (wood, wood substitutes, steel)
• Prepare tenders and quotations.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites.
• Survey building locations and levels.
• Supervise other workers.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings.
