Job summary

NJM Insurance Group is looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who will support our Accounting team with monthly close tasks and the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules.

As a Summer Intern, you will assist with monthly and quarterly closes and participate in current and upcoming projects, gaining exposure to the insurance industry and professional skill-building seminars.

Qualifications

• Interest in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry.
• Pursuing a bachelors in accounting with Sophomore or Junior standing.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and collaborative in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Record journal entries and analyze financial statements.
• Support internal/external/regulatory auditors with requested documentation.
• Perform special projects as needed.
• Identify potential operational efficiencies and automated solutions for manual processes.
