Job summary

The City of Thunder Bay is seeking a Coordinator Financial Reporting to support corporate financial accountability, funding compliance, and strategic decision-making. You will work with multiple departments to ensure accurate reporting and maximize external funding opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in business administration or commerce majoring in accounting with 3 years’ accounting or related experience
• Diploma in business administration in accounting with 5 years’ accounting or related experience
• Three years of previous budget preparation, financial reporting and resource management experience
• Knowledge of federal, provincial and non-government funding opportunities and reporting

Responsibilities

• Coordinate financial reporting, funding applications, and related processes across departments
• Prepare financial reports, analyses, benchmarking, forecasts, and cash flows; liaise with auditors and resources as needed
• Manage a database of funding opportunities and coordinate external funding applications
• Act as primary contact with federal and provincial agencies for report submissions and funding program insights
• Provide guidance on accounting standards and use of SAP and other financial reporting software
