Job description
Overview

This Retirement & Wealth Planning role focuses on providing tax, retirement, and estate planning strategies using our proprietary personal financial planning tools. As part of the Family Office Service (FOS) team, the Financial Planning Analyst acts as the primary financial planner in our centralized service and collaborates with Financial Planning Specialists in their regions to prepare and develop Compass comprehensive financial plans.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive personal financial plans on behalf of the various sales forces and with the Financial Planning Specialists, including determining clients’ objectives, analyzing current situations, and developing appropriate advice, strategies, and recommendations.
  • Stay current with financial planning standards and practices.
  • Spot, anchor, introduce, and follow up on opportunities for complimentary businesses and solutions.
  • Maintain a high level of partnership and knowledge regarding all of RBC’s units.
  • Contribute ideas and participate in development projects to enhance our services.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to other professionals in Wealth Management Services.
Qualifications

Must-have

  • Financial Planner diploma granted by the IQPF.
  • 5 years of experience in financial planning; client-facing experience is a strong asset.
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of the Canadian taxation system.
  • Working knowledge of financial planning software (Conquest).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and ability to adapt to a fast-changing software.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French-speaking needs.

Nice-to-have

  • Accounting designation.
