In this role, you will promote the development and sustainable growth of proprietary investment business in the assigned market area by:

Responsibilities

  • External clients – Engage in proactive client outreach to individuals outside the Scotiabank network, showcasing the value of financial planning to empower clients to pursue financial objectives.
  • Internal clients – Deepen relationships with existing Scotiabank clients, identify opportunities, and partner across the branch network to provide access to bank resources.
  • Drive investment sales and new client acquisition while adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance and regulatory requirements.

What is the role of a Financial Planner?

As a Financial Planner, you will focus on developing and deepening mass affluent client relationships by providing high quality advice and service. You will build and leverage networks and centres of influence to grow a practice and long-term relationships.

As a Financial Planner you are

  • Driven by purpose and determination with a focus on delivering personalized investment and financial planning advice to help clients achieve their goals.
  • Flexible to meet clients outside of the office on a schedule that suits both parties.
  • Committed to working within the Scotiabank framework to benefit clients and the practice.

Following a comprehensive financial planning framework, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Driving investment sales and new client acquisition with adherence to Global Sales Principles, compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Establishing business development opportunities with prospects and clients within the assigned market area.
  • Joining a purpose-driven team in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
  • Mutual fund certification with current accreditation and licensing requirements (CIRO Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • PFP designation and/or CFP designation.
  • Proven networking, client acquisition and interpersonal skills; experience building Centres of Influence (COIs).
  • Goal-oriented and entrepreneurial; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory environment.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle to meet clients within the designated district.

Compensation is base plus variable pay. This is a mobile role and will require frequent travel.
