Job summary

BMO Financial Group in Quebec is seeking a motivated Financial Planner to provide financial and investment planning advice, assess client needs, and offer solutions through the sale of managed products and services.

You will engage with new and existing customers, build relationships, and develop a relationship management plan while meeting sales targets. The role offers a commission-based pay structure and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Regulatory licensing and registration requirements for Financial Planner in province/territory.
  • Advanced working knowledge of financial industry.
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
  • In-depth verbal & written communication skills.
  • In-depth collaboration & team skills.
  • In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth influence skills.

Responsibilities

  • Takes a lead in needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
  • Implements business development strategies to acquire new business.
  • Engages customers to grow BMO’s business by generating appointments and building relationships.
  • Identifies opportunities to generate referrals for personal and commercial banking products.
  • Supports achievement of sales and performance targets.
  • Develops and implements a relationship management plan to meet client needs.
  • Responds to customer investment requests and refers to partners where appropriate.
  • Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.
  • Introduces clients to investment strategies and helps set goals with guidance tools.
  • Probes to understand customer investment and banking needs and ties in promotions.
  • Maintains knowledge of personal investment products and trends.
  • May work at multiple branches and channels to deliver customer experience.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Protects assets and complies with regulatory requirements.
