Western University seeks a Financial Officer to manage administrative, financial, and human resources processes. The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree, CPA progress, and solid experience in accounting, ensuring compliance and providing essential financial support to the Department of Medicine.

Salary Grade 15: $69,180 - $81,370; commensurate with experience

Responsibilities
The Financial Officer is responsible to provide a wide range of administrative, human resources and financial functions and processes and to ensure they are carried out in compliance with all relevant administrative policies and procedures.
The Financial Officer is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient financial administration, and for providing financial, accounting, and budgetary support within the department. The role will facilitate the implementation of financial processes and practices in compliance with the policies, procedures, and legislation applicable to the University, Hospitals, Research Institute, and AFP Governance organizations which affect physician clinical and non-clinical remuneration. The Financial Officer will compile relevant data, and conduct timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting. The role will be a first point of contact and act as a resource in relation to all accounting, financial, procurement and budgeting processes for the department as funds cross institutional boundaries and affect operating and grant funding.
The Financial Officer will provide financial and administrative support to Division Chair/Chiefs and the Department Chair/Chief on project management, participate in relevant committees, and ensure the availability of necessary documentation, resources and information.
