Forge Consulting Group is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Controller on behalf of our client in the sustainable manufacturing sector. This leadership role is ideal for a finance professional with a strong background in manufacturing and cost accounting who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, including month-end and quarter-end closes, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning. This individual will play a key leadership role and act as a trusted advisor to the executive team.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Oversight

• Lead the finance department and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, TSXV, and public company reporting standards.
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership to support strategic initiatives.

Monthly & Quarterly Financial Close

• Manage month-end close processes including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare and review financial statements in line with GAAP/IFRS standards.
• Conduct variance analysis and ensure timely, accurate reporting.

Consolidated Reporting & Audit

• Handle consolidation and intercompany accounting processes.
• Oversee preparation of public financial documents and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing

• Develop and optimize a cost accounting framework focused on cost per product.
• Work with production and operations teams to drive cost-efficiency and profitability.

Process Improvement & Internal Controls

• Lead implementation of robust financial processes and internal controls.
• Ensure accurate data integrity and compliance with best practices.

Strategic Planning & Analysis

• Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
• Provide scenario modeling and strategic insight to support executive decisions.
• Monitor KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.

Ad-Hoc Projects

• Support executive leadership with special financial projects and reconciliations.
• Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory updates, and market trends.

Qualifications & Skills:

• CPA designation required (CMA or equivalent preferred).
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong background in manufacturing and cost accounting.
• Proficient in accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and ERP platforms.
• Advanced skills in Excel, MS Office, and Google Suite.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with IFRS, TSXV reporting, and multi-currency environments.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 8-hour shifts
• Onsite position (Windsor, ON)
