Bevo Farms Ltd operates three sites in the lower mainland of British Columbia and two facilities in the province of Alberta.

Summary

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the finance and accounting team, driving improved financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audits. This role requires a forward-thinking, strategic leader who can optimize financial processes and provide key insights to senior management to support growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership & Strategy
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and decision-making.
• Drive cost management and profitability improvement initiatives across multiple locations.
• Lead financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Develop financial models to evaluate business opportunities and risks.
• Work closely with the executive team on structuring, financing, and investment decisions.
• Accounting & Internal Controls
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and tax compliance.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with ASPE and IFRS.
• Strengthen internal controls and optimize accounting policies to enhance efficiency.
• Lead treasury and cash management functions to maintain financial stability.
• Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Prepare and present timely monthly financial reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and oversee external audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with corporate tax filings, GST/PST/HST, and other regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
  
  

Qualifications

• Mandatory:
• CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) designation required.
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a controllership role.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE and IFRS.
• Proven experience in financial planning, cost control, and profitability analysis.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred:
• Experience with ERP systems and financial software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Experience managing financial operations across multiple locations or international subsidiaries.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills for working with stakeholders at all levels.
