Financial Controller - Brampton (Hybrid Role - 2 days in Office)

Compensation Package: $140,000 - $170,000 + discretionary bonus + 4 weeks vacation + benefits + RSP match + 407/gas allowance

About the Role

Hays have partnered with a Brampton based manufacturing organization who are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join their leadership team and help steer the financial direction of their fast-paced manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will help manage the company’s accounting functions, ensure robust financial controls, and support data-driven decisions to fuel growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead role in day-to-day accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, inventory accounting, and general ledger
• Assist in preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with ASPE for both the Canadian entity and the Mexican entity.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing variances and recommending actions
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimize cost accounting and product profitability
• Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants
• Assist with monthly reporting to lenders
• Key involvement in process improvements and system upgrades (e.g. ERP implementation)

Qualifications

• CPA designation (CA, CGA, or CMA) required
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing organization
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and job costing
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (Epicor would be a strong preference)
• Experience with ERP implementation an asset
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
