Job summary

TerraLink Horticulture seeks a Financial Controller to oversee the full accounting cycle and provide timely financial information for decision-making.

The Controller reports to the Director of Finance, leads accounting staff, and ensures compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across the organization.

Qualifications

• CPA designation currently held.
• Eight to ten years of progressive accounting experience; cost accounting preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Experience supervising accounting staff and advising senior leadership.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee general ledger activities, reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
• Manage close schedules, review financial results, investigate variances, and ensure all deadlines are met.
• Coordinate annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitor performance against plan, and explain significant variances and trends.
• Establish and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and procedures, and ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate external annual audit, prepare supporting documentation, respond to auditor inquiries, and support tax filings and other statutory reporting.
• Monitor cash flow, banking activity, receivables, payables, inventory, and other working capital accounts.
• Provide management with clear, actionable analysis of profitability, costs, margins, risks, and overall business performance.
• Enhance accounting processes, reporting tools, data quality, automation, and the effective use of financial systems.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff, assign responsibilities, and maintain appropriate review and approval processes.

Job Summary
