Duties:
- Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Analyst will:
- Ensure the accurate and timely internal and external reporting of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group, the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health, the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research, the Royal Ottawa Volunteer Association, and Atlas financial results.
- Provide support to the general ledger system.
- Provide financial program support to Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for external funders.
- Oversee the internal monthly financial statements for ROHCG organizations.
- Oversee the annual audited financial statements for ROHCG organizations.
- Perform reconciliations for various accounts monthly.
- Prepare monthly General Journal entries.
- Assist in year-end audit processes.
- Support the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, working with management to develop accurate revenue and expenditure forecasts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on financial transactions for managers, directors, and Vice Presidents.
- Maintain general ledger reports.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from clients, staff, and external parties.
- Work with staff to improve processes and find efficiencies.
- Prepare the annual audit file.
- Ensure compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies, and procedures of the ROHCG.
- Maintain a work environment conducive to the ROHCG Respectful Workplace Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance required.
- CPA Designation required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a computerized accounting environment.
- Strong working knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel).
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.
