Primary Function

Responsible for budgeting, reporting, and analysis of the financial results of 2 business segments, SG&A budgeting and analysis, providing financial support to the A. O. Smith New Product Development process, and providing support and reporting assistance to the manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the US Selling & General Administration & Engineering expense budgeting process with department head -Vice President (80 departments, 15-20 department heads,$100M spend).
• Provide high-level walk-forwards to assist leadership in understanding the change in spending and headcount.
• Budget, report, and analyze Wholesale SBU financial results.
• Budget, report, and analyze Export SBU financial results.
• Support plants with individual budgeting and reporting (plan templates, plan pre-views etc), consolidate plant variances and develop high level comments, and provide analysis for inventory and conversion cost.
• Coordinate various performance excellence projects within the Finance area.
• Support the A. O. Smith New Product Development process by providing financial analyses (P and L impact, balance sheet impact, cash flow, PAR index, payback, other as needed) for specific projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline
• 5+ years of financial experience or exposure to accounting systems

Additional Qualifications:

• Adept at report model development and being able to interpret and summarize data
• Working knowledge of financial and accounting systems – SAP BI/BPC experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail and high organization skills
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong communication both orally and written
• Ability to work with and maintain the integrity of confidential information
• Ability to work independently and as a team to meet strict deadlines while balancing priorities
• Good interpersonal and influencing skills
• Experience in a manufacturing company a plus

Education

Baccalaureate in Finance or Related Field
