Job summary

IFG - International Financial Group in Toronto seeks an experienced Financial Analyst to support IFRS reporting, technical accounting research, and policy development.

Responsibilities include preparing IFRS-compliant statements, memos, and disclosures; supporting audits; and driving improvements in financial reporting processes using advanced Excel, Power BI, and SAP S/4HANA/Fiori.

Qualifications

• Requires IFRS/IAS experience and external reporting responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to perform technical accounting research and policy documentation.
• Strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills required.

Contract: Up to 18 Months

We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Analyst - IFRS, Reporting & Advisory to join a well-established organization in Toronto.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional with expertise in IFRS, external financial reporting, technical accounting research, and accounting policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements and disclosures.
• Research and interpret IFRS standards for complex accounting transactions.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support accounting policy development.
• Prepare technical accounting memos, position papers, and recommendations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting activities.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, including year-end audit requirements.
• Assist with journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Support process improvements and financial reporting initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong hands-on experience with IFRS/IAS and external financial reporting.
• Experience preparing financial statements in accordance with IFRS, preferably within the retail sector.
• Proven experience with technical accounting research, accounting memos, and policy documentation.
• Strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, and Power BI is an asset.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
