Job description

Our client, a Top 5 Bankin Canada is looking to hire a Financial Analyst, Fixed Asset Accounting to their Finance team for an initial 6-month contract with a possibility of extension / conversion.This role is hybrid, 3-4 days in office in downtown Calgary.

Responsibilities Include :

• Perform accounting and reporting activities on a recurring basis to support an accurate and timely period-end close, including but not limit to :
• Manage fixed assets by keeping track of all acquisitions, disposals, transfer of assets and maintaining the fixed asset subledger
• Prepare working papers to support E&E and PP&E reporting
• Perform month-end settlement and DDA run in SAP
• Post accruals and journal entries as required
• Complete reconciliations
• Prepare financial reports and analysis.
• Support overall compliance with SOX processes and controls.

Qualifications :

• 5+ years relevant experience in accounting, business / financial analysis.
• Financial reporting experience under IFRS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft (Excel, Word).
• Oil and gas industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with SAP, Group Reporting and Excel is highly desired.
