Financial Analyst - Early Career Rotation Program

Location: Calgary, AB, CA, T3E 6L1

UFA's Finance Early Career Rotation Program aims to attract exceptional new finance and accounting graduates to a dynamic growing organization offering a unique career development opportunity. The Program provides finance and accounting graduates with a broad understanding of UFA's core businesses through challenging work assignments, training and development, and opportunities for networking and mentorship.

As a Financial Analyst, this 3-year Program consists of rotational assignments that span UFA's Finance functions which may include: Accounting, Planning & Forecasting, Risk & Governance, Financial Analysis and Reporting, allowing for broad exposure to UFA's different businesses and provides qualifying work experience towards the CPA and CFA professional designations.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in cross-functional projects to understand the interdependencies between finance and other departments.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities.
  • Consolidate and analyze financial data.
  • Support creation of monthly/quarterly reporting packages for management.
  • Identify and progress process improvement opportunities.
  • Assists in the creation of documentation to ensure consistent application and/or interpretation of processes or policies.
  • Gain exposure to financial systems and tools used for data analysis and reporting.
  • Drives self-development including progression towards professional designation.
  • Completes assigned tasks including project and program support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in different business units to gain a holistic view of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business with a major in accounting or finance, with the intention to immediately enroll in the CPA or CFA professional designation program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced high-performing team environment. .
  • Adaptable to changing work demands and ability to prioritize.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential through active involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, or leadership roles within academic or professional organizations.
