Job summary

Moment Factory in Montreal seeks a Tax Manager to ensure tax compliance for all entities and to support international expansion. You will coordinate with the finance team on filings and risk management across jurisdictions.

The role requires a degree in accounting or related field and at least 3 years of tax experience. Proficiency in French and English is essential, with NetSuite and Excel as valuable assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in tax provisions and tax returns.
• Knowledge of sales taxes and corporate income taxes.
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
• Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Prepare consumption tax returns (GST, QST, VAT, etc.) and ensure compliance.
• Compile data for tax returns and file with external specialists.
• Handle intercompany charges and transfer pricing calculations.
• Prepare forms for an international group (T106, T1134, NR, T5).
• Prepare T4A and 1099 forms for self-employed workers.
• Participate in audits and respond to government inquiries.
• Track state revenues and register for sales/use tax as needed.
• Manage withholding taxes with foreign clients.
• Document year-end audit files and assist external auditors.
• Prepare quarterly tax installments.

YOUR MISSION

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you are responsible for ensuring tax compliance for all company entities, ensuring adherence to local, national, and international tax regulations. You will participate in international expansion projects with the finance team.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Sales taxes in the different countries where it operates: Prepare consumption tax returns (GST, QST, VAT, GST, sales & use tax), submit them, and ensure compliance with applicable sales tax laws.
• Tax returns: Compile the required information for tax returns, prepare tax returns, and file them in collaboration with external tax specialists, and reconcile with notices of assessment.
• Transfer pricing: Perform accounting entries regarding intercompany charges and transfer pricing calculations according to the established transfer pricing methodology.
• Forms: Prepare all other forms for an international group, such as T106, T1134, NR, and T5 forms.
• Forms: Prepare T4A and 1099 forms for self-employed workers at the end of each fiscal year.
• Participate in audits by various government authorities.
• Compliance: Track state revenues to determine economic nexus and register states for sales & use tax as needed.
• Withholding tax: Follow up on withholding taxes deducted by foreign clients.
• Document year-end audit files and participate in the external auditors' annual audit regarding tax amounts shown on financial statements
• Prepare quarterly tax installments.

YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or administration, or another related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with tax provisions and tax returns; in an accounting firm or in industry.
• Knowledge of sales taxes and corporate income taxes.
• Experience with NetSuite, an asset.
• Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written (you will communicate regularly with English-speaking clients in this role).
• Excellent proficiency with office software tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge and interest in the AI field.
