THEROLE IN A NUTSHELL

The Financial Analyst will join the Finance / Accounting team by coordinating the full cycle of payments and by providing support and assistance in the monthly accounting close process as well as analysis and reconciliation of key accounts.

  • Collaborate with members of our accounting team to ensure day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions are maintained
  • Coordinate full cycle of payments: customer deposits, customer claims, vendor payments, internal and external commissions.
  • Prepare AR and AP sub-ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, client account reconciliations, and ad hoc financial analysis for senior leadership
  • Support the month-end and year-end full cycle accounting processes including preparation of working papers and journal entries, intercompany balancing entries, expense allocations for multiple businesses in Line of Business
  • Support the maintenance of a strong control environment to meet internal and external standards
  • File and maintain accounting records and reports
  • Perform ad hoc off-cycle financial analysis on specific areas of the business
  • Support other projects related to GS’s broader finance transformation initiative
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Finance / Accounting Team

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business (finance or accounting specialization preferred)
  • Accounting professional designation (or working towards) is an asset
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of group benefits and insurance industry an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to process and manipulate large amounts of data
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills with strong attention to detail
