OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Contracts Manager is responsible for the delivery of outstanding contract management support services, including drafting and negotiation of complex commercial transactions, and providing risk assessment onkey contract issues to senior leadership DXC Technology (“DXC”) and its affiliates. This role will report the Contracts Lead.

Description of Role

  • Primary day to day focus is commercial and contractual support services across all of DXC’s industries (Aerospace and Defense, Manufacturing, Retail & Consumer, Public sector (Including Government), Healthcare, Automotive and Banking & Insurance, Travel and Tourism, Energy), advising on technology and outsourcing deals in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and customer requirements.
  • Provide commercial and contract drafting, review, analysis, advice and guidance on contract interpretation, understanding of the key risks and obligations of contracting and an ability to leverage the contract to be maximum advantage including elements of profit / margin optimization.
  • Manage contract changes, deliverables, correspondence and risks, and maintaining associated documentation and reporting to Account leads and leadership
  • Utilize digital tools to track, report and keep management informed of the activity, status and risk profile of all deals against DXC’s contracting rules.
  • Works with internal & external customers conducts contract risk/assessments and problem-solves using excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Embraces innovative contract and legal delivery services solutions, including use of technology and process to improve effectiveness/efficiency of delivery of services

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and negotiation support in connection with a broad range of commercial transactions to client account/sales teams.
  • Provide ongoing advice to account teams regarding legal and commercial implications of specific terms and conditions in contracts.
  • Document, track, review and report on contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify issues, conflicts or changes requiring resolution.
  • Regularly support the DXC business with company wide data requests regarding specific aspects of all contracts for which the CM is responsible.
  • Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal clients about contractual issues.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the supported clients’ business strategies as well as continuously learning about current and new technologies.
  • Support other Contract Managers and Account teams where and as availability allows.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required (or regional equivalent education). JD a plus.
  • Must have French fluency
  • 8+ years drafting and negotiating contracts. Outsourcing/information technology contracts experience also a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Daily engagement with both DXC and customer business people will be required.
  • Ability to provide guidance/interpretation on existing contract provisions
  • Understand basic principles of commercial finance
  • Good understanding of contracting/risk issues, as they apply to technology consulting services industry

Relationships:

  • Reports to: Offering Lead
  • Supervises: No direct supervisory responsibility
  • External Relationships: DXC and DXC client executives and negotiating teams;
  • Work Requirements: Remote position, location in/near Ottawa or in/near Vancouver/Calgary
