Job summary

The Mason Group is seeking a Financial Analyst in Vaughan, Ontario, to develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and forecasts for leadership.

You will build multi-currency P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow models using DAX, SQL, and Power BI, collaborating with a growing finance team to drive accuracy and clarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
• High proficiency in Excel is a requirement.
• CPA designation (or enrollment) is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, DAX, Excel & Power BI Reporting.
• Experience using Jonas software is an asset.
• 2-5+ years' experience building out financial statements, models and dashboards.
• Foreign Exchange/multi-currency exposure is an asset.
• Complete knowledge and practical experience of full accounting cycle.
• IFRS accounting, budgeting & forecasting experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated reports for monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Create dashboards for KPI and key financial metrics using Jonas ERP data.
• Build full financial packages (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for multi-currency entities using DAX/SQL.
• Develop what-if financial models to support scenario planning.
• Collaborate with Finance to meet reporting deadlines and improve processes.
• Identify and drive process improvements, including standard/ad-hoc reports and Excel dashboards.
• Resolve unbalanced transactions and related issues.
• Liaise with Senior Management Team across departments.

Our client is a Canadian electric mobility company focused on developing and providing innovative electric transportation solutions. The company specializes in electric vehicles and related mobility products, with an emphasis on making sustainable, efficient, and accessible transportation more practical for everyday consumers. They specialize in large-scale projects, high profile design-build work, retrofit applications, and clean energy solutions. Providing full service in the residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional spaces on a national scale.

The Financial Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the financial reports and dashboards that will be used to review budget, actual and forecasts by leadership.

• Work with the finance team to understand the requirements and create automated reports for monthly financial statements, budget, and forecasts.
• Develop dashboard for KPI and key financial metrics that will be driven from our Jonas ERP platform and shared with leadership team.
• Experience in building out full scale financial packages (P&L Balance Sheet and Cash flow) for a multi-currency, consolidated company with multiple subsidiaries and divisions using DAX/SQL to link various databases.
• Ability to understand and navigate a changing and complex business environment in building out financial models to develop what if scenarios as part of the analysis.
• Work collaboratively with other Finance team members, specifically to meet reporting deadlines and improve existing processes.
• Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.
• Resolve outstanding issues and troubleshoot unbalanced transactions.
• Frequent liaison with all levels of the Senior Management Team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
• High level of proficiency in Excel is a requirement.
• CPA designation (or enrollment) is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, DAX, Excel & Power BI Reporting.
• Experience using Jonas software is an asset.
• 2-5+ years' experience building out financial statements, models and dashboards.
• Foreign Exchange/multi-currency exposure is an asset.
• Minimum 3-5+ years’ experience in a similar position doing similar functions leading up to and including the duties defined in this job description.
• Complete knowledge and practical experience of full accounting cycle.
• Sound knowledge and experience of IFRS accounting, financial planning, budgeting & forecasting and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
• Good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably Jonas (an asset) along with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically excel.
• Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial, and local requirements regarding financial recording and record retention, and the like is essential.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
• Able to work well under pressure, multitask and meet set deadlines.
• Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
• Self-starter with proactive approach and exceptional problem-solving skills.
