Our client, the Government of Canada is seeking a designated, confident, and analytical Financial Analyst to join their team in a full time, one year contract capacity. The successful candidate will utilize their accounting expertise to manage the monthly full cycle accounting procedures and financial reporting. Responsibilities:
- Complete month end closing procedures, including reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Assist with quarterly and year end procedures.
- Guide and support the accounting team, while advising direct reports on potential areas for improvement.
- Ensure accounting tasks are completed in line with policies, procedures, and business strategies.
- Prepare timely and accurate management reports and assist senior management with special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- A CPA designation and a bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field are required.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability interact professionally with a diverse team.
- Experience with public sector accounting and an environment of equivalent size and complexity of the Government of Alberta.
