Job Summary

The Financial Analyst will provide financial and operational support for the Canadian freight line of business. This position reports to the VP of Operations based in Laval, QC.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Prepare and review financial reports to support analysis and decision-making, ensuring data integrity and preparing journal entries for month-end revenue adjustments.
2. Develop KPI metrics in collaboration with the CA IFTS SFA and Operations teams.
3. Support operational projects and upgrades for Canadian IFTS, including testing and system improvements.
4. Understand business operations thoroughly.
5. Identify and resolve system issues, recommending efficiency improvements.
6. Investigate and escalate financial data issues promptly.
7. Partner with business leaders to analyze and provide operational and financial guidance, proposing efficiency solutions and cost-saving measures.
8. Perform proactive variance analysis throughout the month and post-results.
9. Prepare and distribute financial reports to management, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
10. Ensure consistency in financial reporting and analysis.
11. Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed.
12. Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to company policies.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to analyze large datasets at macro and micro levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills with strategic thinking.
• Experience working under pressure and managing deadlines.
• Knowledge of GAAP and audit standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in French and English.
• Technological proficiency, including experience with multiple systems.
• Advanced MS Excel skills; Hyperion and SQL experience are a plus.

Work Experience - Minimum Required

2 years of related experience.
