Job summary

CBI Health is seeking a Financial Accountant to support monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger analysis in Toronto, ON. The role reports to the Manager of Financial Reporting and involves preparing routine journal entries and supporting audit requests in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities include month-end close, journal entry posting, intercompany reconciliations, and contributing to external reporting.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3 to 5 years of financial reporting / accounting experience.
  • CPA program enrollment preferred.
  • Exposure to full cycle accounting, with experience in month-end close and journal entries.
  • Multi-entity accounting experience is an asset.
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines and perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; NetSuite knowledge is a plus.

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (including intercompany), continuity schedules and resolve anomalies.
  • Support preparation of materials to present to senior management and external reporting.

About this opportunity

The Financial Accountant assists in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger account review and supporting analysis for financial statement line items.

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, the Financial Accountant completes assigned tasks following the necessary organizational and compliance controls, prepare routine journal entries, working papers, participate in internal and external audit requests, various analysis and ad hoc tasks as required.

Salary range:$70,000–$75,000 per year

What you need to be successful

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

3 to 5 years of financial reporting / accounting experience

Current enrollment in the CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) program is preferred

Exposure to full cycle accounting, with experience in month-end close and journal entries

Multi-entity accounting experience is an asset

Must be able to meet tight deadlines and perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations

Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel

NetSuite knowledge is an asset

Ability to work with highly confidential information with professionalism and tact

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset

An analytical mindset with the ability to investigate anomalies

Results-oriented with problem-solving skills

Ability to multi-task and attention to detail

Ability to independently manage deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs
