Job summary

BDO Canada seeks a Senior Consultant to integrate governance, process transformation, and performance management for finance executives across client organizations. You will collaborate in teams, develop recommendations, and deliver value through projects ranging from finance process design to operating model redesign.

Ideal candidates hold an undergraduate degree (CPA or master’s preferred) with 5–7 years in finance or consulting, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials.
• An accounting designation (CPA) or relevant master’s degree is preferred.
• 5-7 years of relevant work experience in finance or consulting.
• Deep expertise in financial management disciplines, such as financial process design, budgeting and planning, financial reporting, financial performance management, analytics and data modelling, and business case development.
• Experience with, or interest in, acquiring knowledge of systems and technologies that support the finance function, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365, SAP, Oracle, Blackline, Workiva, etc.
• Strong commitment to professional client service excellence.
• Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.
• Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving.
• Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel.
• Canadian travel required; occasional international travel. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in teams to analyze client issues and interview key personnel.
• Develop recommendations and presentations for client engagements.
• Support teams in delivering value to clients across a wide variety of projects, including finance process design, system design and implementation, and operating model design.
• Identify issues, define symptoms, and recommend solutions.
• Prioritize objectives and contribute to project planning and status reporting.
