Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking a Consultant in our Finance Effectiveness & Transformation practice to work with finance executives across Canada. You will integrate governance, process transformation, performance management, technology implementation, and strategy to optimize shareholder value and transform the finance function.

You will gather information, analyze client challenges, prepare recommendations, and contribute to client engagements from design through implementation.

Qualifications

• Completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials.
• CPA designation or relevant master’s degree preferred.
• 1–4 years of relevant work experience in finance or consulting.
• Deep expertise in financial management disciplines (design, budgeting/planning, reporting, performance management, analytics, data modelling, business case development).
• Experience with or interest in systems and technologies supporting the finance function (e.g., Dynamics AX/D365, SAP, Oracle, Blackline, Workiva).
• Strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

To be successful, you will:

• Work collaboratively with project teams to gather information, analyze client challenges, and support stakeholder interviews.

Your Experience and Education:

• Completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials.
• An accounting designation (CPA) or relevant master’s degree is preferred.
• 1–4 years of relevant work experience in finance or consulting.
• Deep expertise in financial management disciplines, such as financial process design, budgeting and planning, financial reporting, financial performance management, analytics and data modelling, and business case development.
• Experience with, or interest in, acquiring knowledge of systems and technologies that support the finance function, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365, SAP, Oracle, Blackline, Workiva, etc.
• Strong commitment to professional client service excellence.
• Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.
• Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving.
• Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel.
• Canadian travel required; occasional international travel. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.

The expected range of compensation for this role is $60,000 - $90,000 annually.
