Job summary

City of Winnipeg seeks a Supervisor of Financial Services to lead the Municipal Accommodations Branch within the Finance and Administration department. You will mentor staff, oversee internal controls, and coordinate operating and capital budgets.

Reporting to the Manager of Finance, you will direct financial reporting, prepare forecasts, and ensure compliance with PSAB and municipal policies. The role supports a hybrid work arrangement at 4th Floor - 185 King St.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with complex financial systems in a supervisory role.
• Experience with reports and analyses using linked Excel spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of PSAB and municipal accounting principles.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Ability to supervise staff and build effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations of the Financial Services - Municipal Accommodations Branch and lead staff.
• Coordinate the Municipal Accommodations Division's Operating and Capital Budgeting processes.
• Direct year-end financial reporting and analysis activities.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of periodic forecasts of operating results and capital expenditures.
• Assess divisional financial systems and internal controls and implement improvements.
• Perform duties consistent with the role as assigned.
