Finance & Operations Analyst

Remote first (Must be based in Canada and available during Eastern Time business hours)

Full-Time | Reports to: VP(Finance)

A little about Avesdo

We are a New Home Sales OS focused on optimising the new home sales process. As we scale, we're building a lean, data-driven ops team to ensure visibility across finance, sales, and customer success. Our team is collaborative, values-driven, and built around trust. We move fast, we care about the details, and we believe that progress matters more than perfection.

Why does this role matter?

Finance and ops are often the quiet engines of great businesses — and this role will be central to how we scale well. We’re looking for a detail-orientedFinance & Operations Analyst to help us make better decisions, faster. You'll help make sure our numbers tell the real story, that our processes support our goals, and that our teams have the right information to make smart decisions. This role blends core financial responsibilities (reporting, variance analysis, A/R) with operational analytics (sales data tracking and CRM insights). We’re looking for someone who’s not just sharp with numbers, but also eager to shape how our business operates behind the scenes.

Who will thrive in this role?

You move quickly by bringing clarity to the numbers and momentum to the operations. You thrive in a high-autonomy environment, where deadlines are real, and your work drives results. You love turning analysis into action and enjoy both “doing the work” (reconciling, analysing) and “thinking forward” (planning, strategy).

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis & Sales Reporting:

  • Perform financial modelling, budget forecasting, variance analysis and other ad-hoc financial statements to inform strategic decisions.
  • Track and analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability across different business units.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial, sales, and operating reports for leadership, highlighting financial trends and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Support accurate forecasting, pipeline health reporting, and overall Rev Ops initiatives.

Accounting & AR Management:

  • Own bookkeeping tasks, including transaction records, expense tracking, and categorization in accounting tools.
  • Manage and prepare regulatory tax filings (e.g., GST/HST, corporate income tax).
  • Prepare and present Consolidated Financial Statements, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
  • Handle end-to-end AR billings and collections processes to support strong cash flow.
  • Reconcile accounts and support revenue recognition and financial compliance.
  • Analyze operating results against budgets and KPIs.

Data & KPI Analysis:

  • Ensure clean data flows into dashboards and reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to track company-wide KPIs and other performance metrics.
  • Partner with the sales team to maintain reliable data in HubSpot — helping them stay accountable to their targets and making it easier to measure what matters.
  • Provide detailed quantitative analysis and trend insights across sales, marketing, product, and operations to support data-driven decisions across the business.

What We're Looking For:

Must-Haves

  • 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, Accounting, or similar roles.
  • University degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a bias for action.
  • Proven ability to perform variance analysis, financial modelling and budget forecasting.
  • Hands-on experience in core accounting tasks such as AR/AP tracking, reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Experience using CRMs like HubSpot to pull reports and analyze sales data.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel (lookups, pivots, formulas, modelling), Google Sheets, and financial modelling tools to create and maintain complex Excel models.
  • Adaptable team player who thrives in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada and must reside and be available to work standard business hours in the Eastern Time Zone (ET).

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • Progress toward CPA certification (enrolled or working towards) is a significant advantage.

Why Join Us?

We're a purpose-driven, remote-first SaaS company where you'll be trusted to do meaningful work, supported by a team that values clarity, curiosity, and momentum. Here’s what we offer:

  • High-ownership role: Opportunity to shape operations in a scaling SaaS business with strong potential for career growth and exposure to both finance and go-to-market functions
  • Remote setup, on us: a laptop, extra monitor, key accessories, and a home office stipend.
  • Time to recharge: We offer a generous vacation policy so you can unplug, reset, and come back refreshed.
  • Support for you and your family with extended health, dental, and vision coverage, plus a flexible health spending account.

We understand that looking for a new exciting opportunity can be time-consuming. We truly appreciate your time in going through the job posting and applying for a position with us. We estimate the full hiring process will take about 8 hours of your time. Submit your resume and complete a brief set of questions.
