Job summary

Invest Ottawa's Finance Manager, Area X.O, oversees the financial planning and analysis for Area X.O, ensuring accurate expense reporting, revenue recognition, and adherence to internal and external controls. This role leads the preparation and analysis of financial reports and supports budgeting, forecasting and audit readiness.

The position is hybrid, requiring 10 in-office days per month, primarily at Area X.O with some time at Bayview Yards, and offers a salary band of CAD 76,000 to CAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration or related field.
• Accounting designation (CPA) is an asset.
• 5 to 7 years of experience, with at least two managing direct reports.
• Not-for-profit experience is an asset.
• Strong communications skills, oral, reading and writing.
• Experience with revenue recognition, cost allocation, and project- or fund-based accounting.
• Comfort budgeting, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Familiarity with internal controls and auditors' expectations.
• Strong spreadsheet skills and ERP/financial reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for the Area X.O team.
• Contribute to accurate and timely cash flow projections.
• Review and approve journal entries and cost allocations for Area X.O activities and projects.
• Apply GAAP and not-for-profit financial principles across programs.
