Job summary

Huron Canada is seeking a Finance Lead to bring deep finance business acumen to Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain implementations for manufacturing and automotive clients. This is a Lead role, partnering with architecture and technical teams to shape business processes and control design on client sites in the Toronto area.

You will direct AI-enabled tooling usage, manage client relationships, and mentor consultants while delivering a high-quality finance workstream.

Position summary
Huron Canada is looking for a Finance Lead to bring deep finance business acumen to Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management implementations for manufacturing and automotive clients. This is a Lead role, not a Solution Architect role: the primary mandate is to understand a client’s financial operations, close process, cost accounting, and financial reporting, deeply enough to shape business process design and hold finance stakeholders through it, working side by side with the solution architecture and technical teams who own the underlying system build. The Lead directs how AI-enabled tools, including Copilot and Dynamics 365 AI-driven forecasting and automation capabilities, are used in workshops, requirements capture, and testing to increase the speed and quality of the implementation. This is an on-site role based in the Toronto, Ontario area and requires Canadian citizenship.

Finance Lead, Microsoft Dynamics 365 | Manufacturing and Automotive

Key responsibilities

Business process leadership

• Process ownership. Lead client business process reviews across financial close, cost accounting, treasury, and financial reporting, assessing current-state maturity and shaping future-state design.

• Requirements ownership. Own functional requirements definition for the finance workstream, translating business needs into a solution design that the architecture and technical teams configure and build.

• Design facilitation. Facilitate and document design sessions with client finance process owners and subject matter experts to confirm requirements are met and understood.

• Cross-functional alignment. Understand the cross-functional effect of supply chain and manufacturing transactions on financial performance and reporting, and coordinate with the Supply Chain and Manufacturing Leads accordingly.

AI-enabled delivery acceleration

• AI-enabled acceleration. Direct the use of AI-enabled tools, Copilot, and Dynamics 365 AI-driven forecasting and automation capabilities in discovery, requirements capture, test scripting, and user enablement to compress timelines without sacrificing quality.

• AI-informed design. Identify where AI-driven forecasting, predictive analytics, or intelligent automation can strengthen the client’s future-state finance design.

Client relationship and stakeholder management

• Relationship building. Build and sustain trusted, on-site relationships with client finance executives, controllers, and process owners, serving as a trusted advisor.

• Client point of contact. Serve as the client’s day-to-day point of contact for finance questions throughout the implementation.

Team leadership and delivery quality

• Delivery leadership. Lead and guide internal and client team members through finance configuration validation, testing, training, and deployment.

• Mentorship. Mentor consultants on finance business process design and client-facing delivery discipline.

Required qualifications

• Deep business acumen in corporate finance and accounting operations: financial close, cost accounting, treasury, and financial reporting, gained through industry or consulting experience.

• A track record of leading finance business process design and requirements definition on ERP implementations, in a role accountable for the business outcome rather than the technical build.

• Demonstrated experience working in or with a manufacturing environment, including understanding of how supply chain and production activity flows into financial results.

• Strong facilitation skills, with experience leading design workshops with finance executives and subject matter experts.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build durable client relationships.

Preferred qualifications

None of the following are required. They are bonus attributes that strengthen a candidate’s ability to direct a Dynamics 365 finance workstream, on top of the core business acumen qualifications above.

• Direct, hands‑on functional experience with Dynamics 365 Finance.

• Automotive industry experience, including OEM or Tier 1/2 supplier environments.

• Experience with AI‑driven forecasting, predictive analytics, or intelligent finance automation tools.

• Microsoft certifications relevant to Dynamics 365 Finance (e.g., MB‑310).

• CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting designation.

• Prior consulting experience at a systems integrator or professional services firm.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a field related to this position or equivalent work experience

• 5‑7+ years of related experience with cloud implementations in a consulting role

• End‑to‑end project implementation experience in one or more of the following areas: Cloud ERP, EPM, or CRM offerings

• Experience as a functional application specialist

• Excellent communication skills – oral and written – and the interpersonal skills needed to quickly establish relationships of trust and collaboration

• The ability to train and participate in the professional development of Huron staff in both project management and technical dimensions

• Proven ability to contribute on multiple projects of differing scale and duration

• Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed to work with client or other internal project teams

The estimated base salary for this job is $130,000.00 - $160,000 CAD.. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $149,500- $200,000 CAD. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
