La position

Finance Insights & Data Analyst

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That’s what makes us Roche.

At Roche, our Finance Centers of Excellence have led the way in breaking down silos, removing hierarchies, and working in new ways. We’ve learned from our successes and from the things that haven’t gone so well. We’re better equipped to look at interfaces and synergies and to understand the risks of creating new silos. Now is the time to build on those learnings, shifting from a divisional/functional approach to an enterprise approach with an Enterprise Center of Excellence (eCoE).

The Opportunity

The eCoE focuses on three areas delivering a high level of financial expertise, innovative insights, and an entrepreneurial mindset that enables agility and flexibility for stakeholders. The eCoE is a talent engine for Finance through capability building and network building.

There are three focus areas within eCoE:

  • Financial Backbone
  • Digital Innovation
  • Analytics and Insights

Within the eCOE, the R&D Outcome Based Community (OBC) focuses on delivering a high-level of financial expertise, innovative insights, and an entrepreneurial mindset to influence and support R&D investments at Roche. While there are three focus areas and clusters, we are not seeking to create silos. We are looking for individuals who display the Finance Mindset and behaviors and will support a living organism that will leverage the business knowledge and financial expertise of the network to deliver exceptional results for Finance and Roche.

Team members will partner with Roche Services & Solutions, Finance Enterprise Partners, and the Business to deliver many of Finance's core processes and deliverables while also driving process scaling/simplification/harmonization and progressing our digital ambition. Ensuring business continuity is a must.

The key deliverable of the role include and may evolve over time:

  • Supports the R&D FP&A community on various deliverables along the monthly and yearly financial cycle (planning, actuals tracking, closing etc.)
  • Closely partners with the R&D unit FP&A leads (gRED, pRED and PD) to deliver impactful Analytics & Insights to FEPs and the R&D Finance Leads (recurring and ad-hoc). Positions to be the natural back up of the unit FP&A leads with the business acumen developed
  • E2E ownership of operational work-packages in areas such as month-end closing & reporting incl relevant stakeholder management
  • Builds close and trusted relationships with the FEP community and with members of other OBCs (e.g. commercial, partnering, PT)
  • Supports FP&A community on strategic priorities (e.g. Capacity Exercise, Study Excellence, RDE, ASPIRE) with data, analytics and tracking progress
  • Ensures integrity of financials (validation, accurate recognition) and orchestrates collection of inputs from FEPs (e.g. monthly narratives)
  • Drives process improvement, digitalization, and automation initiatives (e.g., MEC and accrual management optimization) to enhance operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to optimize our efficiency and effectiveness in how we operate by asking where to stop work, where to automate, where to scale and where to transfer if the work is not in the remit (SAST). This is with the focus on FP&A & MEC work packages.
  • Maintains high standards of maintenance of PO hygiene and operational excellence, ensuring continuous alignment with evolving financial processes.

Who you are

  • You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business-related discipline - MA/MBA preferred.
  • You possess 5+ years of experience in Finance preferably in a global setting.
