Job summary

BCAA in Burnaby is offering a Financial Analyst Co-Op Student position for the January to April term. You will contribute to financial analysis and reporting that support strategic goals, supervised by the Assistant Manager, Finance.

As an undergraduate student, you will apply classroom learnings to real-world FP&A tasks, gain hands-on experience, and develop analytical and communication skills through mentorship from experienced finance professionals.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate program with a concentration in commerce, business administration, finance or a related field.
• Up to one year of finance or accounting exposure.
• Interest in financial modelling and turning data into useful insights and presentations.
• Exposure to Excel, Word, PowerPoint is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Interpret financial data with Senior Analysts to develop insights.
• Perform actual-to-budget and KPI analyses and trend analyses.
• Use financial systems to extract, analyze and interpret data for reporting.
• Support data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of information.
• Present your work clearly through written analyses and presentations.
• Contribute to process improvement, automation and AI-enabled initiatives.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams for end-to-end processes.
• Complete other related tasks and projects as assigned.
