Operations Associate at the Democratic Party of Virginia

As the Finance Director, you will have the opportunity to lead and execute the fundraising efforts for the Democratic Party of Virginia. This position will work closely with the Chair and Executive Director, and serve as a member of the senior leadership team. The Finance Director is responsible for building and executing a fundraising plan, building relationships with major donors, and executing fundraising events both large and small.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Finance Department, including strategic planning, budgeting, hiring, and project management.
• Design and implement a comprehensive finance plan in collaboration with the Chair, ED, and Budget Committee.
• Coordinate with the Operations team to monitor compliance, solicit, track, and report campaign finance contributions and expenditures.
• Manage direct reports, support their success through coaching, feedback, and fostering an inclusive team culture.

Requirements:

• At least three (3) years of experience in fundraising within Democratic Politics, Party Organizations, or Campaigns. Virginia experience is a plus.
• Proven success in planning and executing large (500+ person) fundraising events.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain donor relationships statewide.
• Experience working with high-level surrogates and their teams.
• Self-motivated with problem-solving creativity.
• Proficiency with office and campaign software including NGP, Google Suite, Zoom, and Microsoft Office.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel statewide.
• Knowledge of election deadlines and campaign operations.

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary ranges from $55,000 to $100,000 annually, based on experience.
• Position based in Richmond, VA.
• PTO available as approved; no accruals or balances.
• Insurance with 100% employer contributions; 4% 401(k) match after one year.
• Unionized position, represented by UFCW Local 400.
