PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Richmond, BC, seeks an Assistant Manager, Finance & Commercial Risk to support district financial reporting, risk management, and contract compliance.

You will drive policy adherence, oversee security and insurance requirements, and contribute to year-end processes with experience in construction finance. The role offers leadership in a growing region with opportunities for professional development and career growth within the PCL family.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in a related discipline.
• 10 years of progressive accounting experience in construction with 2 years exposure to risk management and legal issues preferred; on-site project experience an asset.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience involving managing the Accounting department.
• Strong financial management acumen; budgeting, forecasting, reporting.
• Advanced knowledge of government legislation regarding payroll, accounting, and GAAP/standards.
• Intermediate ability to draft/review and negotiate contract language.

Responsibilities

• Manage district financial reporting, including monthly operations, quarterly reporting, and year-end accounting; delegate tasks for accuracy and deadlines.
• Implement and ensure adherence to district policies and procedures to maintain effectiveness.
• Act as district chief security officer (CSO) ensuring security requirements of federal government contracts.
• Review monthly forecasting, district/project recoveries, and reconciliations.
• Prepare ad hoc reports for district management and stakeholders.
• Oversee insurance, bonding, and other securities to satisfy contracts and corporate requirements.
• Manage cash-flow cycle; provide recommendations for improvements.
